Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has spoken up again to talk about why it was decided that the long-awaited and much-anticipated game be delayed from September to November.Speaking with Famitsu, as translated by and reported on by Kotaku, Tabata started off by stating that "the optimization isn't [yet] sufficient." There are "various bugs" throughout the game, while frame rate is not holding to its 30 FPS target as well as Square Enix would like.Some of Final Fantasy XV's bugs won't keep players from advancing (a lot of games have bugs like this), but there are others that Tabata hopes can be fixed before release. Following several reports that the release of upcoming role-playing game Final Fantasy XV has been delayed, Square Enix has confirmed a new launch date for the game. Final Fantasy XV will be released globally on November 29--nearly two months later than its previously scheduled September 30 launch date.According to a statement released by Square Enix, the new date "will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams."Game director Hajime Tabata said: "From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. [embedded content] When beloved graphic novel "Watchmen" was reimagined as a movie directed by Zack Snyder, some irate fans, including "Watchmen" comics creator Alan Moore, criticized the movie's depiction of the troubled superheroes. Leave it to Honest Trailers -- a YouTube series from Screen Junkies that features a classic movie-trailer voice-over but with a narrator who makes fun of films -- to lay down some blunt opinions about the 2009 film. In a video posted Tuesday, Honest Trailers points out that the Watchmen may have looked pretty, but the movie tried way too hard to squeeze in every plotline from the comics. "Stare in awe as Snyder's gorgeous shots carry you through an overstuffed plot, where a dense 13-chapter series is crammed into a single movie full of so many story threads it feels like marathoning an entire season of 'Lost' -- at the same time," the Honest Trailers narrator says. Honest Trailers also offers a rather accurate description of the main anti-hero character, Rorschach. "Experience Jackie Earle Haley's spot-on performance as a smelly hobo who hates hands," the narrator says. This brutal review makes even more sense when you realize how often Snyder uses the same cinematic tropes in all of his movies, from "Watchmen" all the way to his most recent DC Comics film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Enlarge Image Softbank Pepper, Japan's friendly neighbourhood robotic humanoid companion, is finally coming to the United States -- but just for a week.The robot will be greeting customers at B8ta, a tech store in San Francisco, Califoia, from August 11 to 18, according to the store's Facebook page. Pepper made its debut in Japan, where it's been sold in 1,000-unit batches. Each time Japanese telco Softbank sends Pepper to the market, it sells out in seconds. Pepper has since also made appearances in Europe. The robot is programmed to communicate with users, follow vocal commands, read human emotions and react accordingly. Though it's available for purchase to regular Joes in Japan, it's main use inteationally has been to greet and serve customers at supermarkets, stores, hotels and the like. RoadshowNewsCar IndustryTesla posts $150 million Q2 loss, may miss 2016 delivery targetsTesla has posted Q2 2016 eaings and, while the word isn't resoundingly terrible, there's more bad news to be found than good. We'll start with the good, Tesla posting $1.56 billion in non-GAAP revenue for Q2. That's up from $1.2 billion in the same period last year. Total vehicle deliveries of 14,402 (9,764 Model S, 4,638 Model X) is also a big bump from this period last year, when Tesla shipped 11,507 vehicles. Tesla also says that average price of the Model S is up three percent. That's the good, here's the bad: Tesla posted a $150 million non-GAAP loss, which amounts to $1.06 per share. That's about double what analysts had figured. The company is also looking like it may come up short on its goal of delivering 80,000 cars this year, as it shipped 14,820 in Q1. So, we're still well-short of half. However, Tesla indicated that "almost half" of its Q2 production occurred in the last four weeks of the quarter, meaning we're on a pretty serious ramp -- assuming that rate continues.Despite all that, Tesla's stock price seems to be weathering the bad news, in after-hours trading up a few points from its $225.79 close. It's been on a strong rally over the past month since the initial announcement of a merger with SolarCity, a deal that was initially met with a fair bit of skepticism. The official opening of the Gigafactory last week is also surely helping to buoy investor spirits. After an incredibly lengthy review process, BMW finally got approval to sell its 2017 diesel vehicles in the US.The Environmental Protection Agency approved BMW's 2017 diesels for sale on Friday, an EPA representative told Reuters. "We tested the vehicles every which way from Sunday," said Chris Grundler, who runs the EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality. Diesels represent about four percent of BMW's US sales.While BMW received approval, Daimler is still waiting on the go-ahead to sell its MY2017 Mercedes-Benz diesel models. I reported earlier this week that the C-Class diesel is delayed, likely until 2017, because of this new scrutiny on diesel approvals. Thankfully, similar to BMW, diesels don't comprise a large portion of the brand's US sales.Nevertheless, it's likely that we'll see delays of this ilk continue for the foreseeable future. Volkswagen really screwed the regulatory pooch when it admitted to willfully deceiving the feds by installing software meant to curtail emissions in lab tests. It already has videos from the two other majors, Universal Music and Sony Music Entertainment, which together own Vevo. (YouTube's parent Google and outside investor Abu Dhabi Media also hold stakes.)For Vevo, Waer Music checks off a big box as it prepares to launch a subscription service. Aiming to set up a service that it hopes is worth paying for, Vevo also revamped its app last month for the second time in less than a year. Vevo's ambition is to build a sleek app catering to music video lovers strongly enough to get them to subscribe Vevo or watch more there, even though they can already do the same on YouTube. Waer was crucial for launching with a complete product. Waer's deal with Vevo marks a flurry of activity for the label's video catalog. Last week, Waer was the first of the majors to license its videos to Vadio, a start-up that plugs in official music-video feeds into apps and websites.Tuesday, Vevo and Waer said select "premium" videos from Waer Music Group artists would be added to Vevo.com and the Vevo mobile app within days. As promised, a new wave of Pokemon Sun and Moon announcements have been made today by way of a trailer revealing new versions of existing Pokemon, brand-new Pokemon, and more.Among Sun/Moon's new features are Alola Forms, which provide a new look and type for existing Pokemon. (Alola is the game's new region.) Most striking of these is Exeggutor's--the formerly plump coconut tree-looking creature has grown a giraffe-sized neck, and judging by some of its faces, it's psyched about that.Exeggutor is prepared to demolish adorable creatures for your monetary gain Nintendo It's also now a Grass/Dragon-type, as opposed to a Grass/Psychic-type as in the past. Other Alola Forms shown off include Vulpix (Ice), Ninetales (Ice/Fairy), Sandshrew (Ice/Steel), and Sandslash (Ice/Steel)The video goes on to provide a look at some other new Pokemon, such as Minior, a floating rock that can shed its outer shell, and Gumshoos, which sports a Donald Trump-esque hairdo. The many styles of Oricorio are also shown, including one that makes it look like a cheerleader (appropriately called the Pom-Pom style). Each of Alola's different islands has a different style that calls it home.Later in the video we see Mudbray, a Ground type, and two new Grass types: Fomantis and its evolved form, Lurantis. The latter brings with it a new move, Solar Blade.Other new features on display are the ability to ride Pokemon and something called Z-Moves, which are described as a new way to attack.
