[embedded content] Some people like to live on the edge, but daredevil Flaviu Ceescu prefers to unicycle on the edge. On Wednesday, Ceescu posted a YouTube video of himself and a friend having fun on top of a very tall abandoned factory chimney measuring 840 feet high (256 meters) at CET Targu Jiu in Romania. The video shows Ceescu riding his unicycle the chimney's rim, as well as performing various circus tricks such as balancing on pieces of wood and juggling oranges. He also shows how scary the climb down can be as he slowly maneuvers through bent metal railings, crumbling stone walls and the kind of rickety ladder not even Indiana Jones would...

A lot's happened in 40 years. Back in 1976, co-founder Steve Wozniak built Apple's first-ever computer, the Apple I, after showing it off to a ragtag group of geeky misfits. Fast forward to 2016: Apple sold its billionth iPhone. That's an enormous achievement for a company that's become both status symbol and everyday icon. In the four decades since the Apple I, co-founder Steve Job has passed away, Wozniak has moved on to other pursuits, and Apple bumps along with the ups and downs of the consumer tech space it helped to so solidly forge. And to think, all that grew from the seed of this first "Eureka" moment.Enlarge ImageThe black-and-white photo from 1976 shows Steve Jobs (right) with co-f...

An hour south of Tokyo, on the edge of the bay is a piece of history unique in the world. Embedded in concrete just a few feet from the water is the 114-year-old battleship Mikasa. It's the only surviving pre-dreadnought battleship, not to mention one of the only Imperial navy vessels still intact from that era. After 21 years in service, the Mikasawas decommissioned, but not scrapped. Instead she was preserved at the request of the Japanese govement, with her engines and armament removed, and her hull encased in concrete. After several extensive restorations, the Mikasa today is a museum ship, and a fascinating look back into tu-of-the-last century naval design. Here's a full tour. ...
