First 'Doctor Strange' poster drops ahead of trailer premiere - CNET

Marvel revealed on Tuesday the movie poster for "Doctor Strange," an atmospheric piece of art that features star Benedict Cumberbatch standing in what appears to be the character's Sanctum Sanctorum. The company also announced a sneak peek will premiere tonight on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET. We'll have that trailer and a recap here as soon as it's available.

In the movie, neurosurgeon Stephen Strange discovers a world of magic and alteate dimensions after he seeks help for serious injuries sustained in a car crash. Parts of the movie are filmed in 3D and it promises to be a twisty-tuy mind-bending ride through dimensions. Ben Davis, the film's director of photography, has already promised the film would be "Marvel's 'Fantasia.'"

"Doctor Strange" also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo and Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One. Mads Mikkelsen and Rachel McAdams also star, though Marvel hasn't said what their roles will be.

The film opens October 27 in Australia, October 28 in the UK and November 4 in the US.
