Netflix has announced it will add 100 hours of High Dynamic Range (HDR) content in the next few months with shows including "A Series of Unfortunate Events", "Marvel's Jessica Jones" and "Bloodline".
The content will be available in both Dolby Vision and HDR, and so will be compatible with Sony and Samsung TVs, and includes mostly Marvel titles plus a couple of movies and standalone series.
The full list of titles, which will expand to over 150 hours of material by the end of the year, includes:
HDR is a 4K-dependent format which much higher contrast than standard HD content in addition to a broader color palette, and there are two competing standards--HDR 10 and Dolby Vision.
Meanwhile competitor Amazon has also announced Dolby Vision/HDR titles for 2016 which include "Bosch," "The Man in the High Castle" and "Transparent".
