AOL Inc.'s latest acquisition will bring 360-degree video and virtual reality content to The Huffington Post, the company announced today. AOL bought RYOT Corp., an immersive media company and virtual content studio that creates films, video, 360-degree video and virtual reality. RYOT will work with the AOL-owned The Huffington Post in creating content for the online publication's video operations.
RYOT has previously worked with The Huffington Post on a project covering the European refugee crisis. Representatives from the companies didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
