Rocket League is becoming even more community focused with the introduction of Rocket Labs, a new way for developer Psyonix to let players try out new and unique maps before releasing them officially.
Psyonix revealed exclusively to GameSpot that Rocket Labs will be included in the February update releasing today and will allow players to give feedback to Psyonix on new stages. These maps won't use their final artwork assets, instead opting for a virtual reality-like aesthetic.
The first levels being introduced are Utopia Retro, which calls back to a donut-shaped map from Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars; Underpass, which features varied elevations for more aerial action; and Doube Goal, which is "wildly different in format."
Much like the Wasteland and Snow Day maps, the Rocket Lab levels won't be immediately available in competitive playlists. Depending on the feedback received, players might see some of the work-in-progress maps included eventually.

For now, the maps will be included in a new casual playlist called "Rocket Labs." Psyonix plans to release new maps as they're created, but there's no set schedule.
In addition to Rocket Labs, some of the stuff that the February update is bringing includes Wasteland coming to competitive playlists. It adds the Snow Day mutator preset, the Puck ball type, and the Winter Stadium map to exhibition and private matches. And if you're a fan of EDM, you can expect to see Deadmau5-themed items for you to unlock.
You'll also now be able to report players who are being offensive. The report function will be accessible through the mid-game menu and will send the full chat log to be submitted for review.
Last but not least, Rocket League is adding a GameSpot community flag (pictured above) that you'll be able to fly on your own soccer car today.
Rocket League is now available on PlayStation 4 and PC. It's coming to Xbox One sometime this month.
