Amazon's trying to make it easier to keep your kids entertained. FreeTime Unlimited -- a subscription based service with content previously tailored to children from three to eight years old -- now has over 13,000 videos, educational apps, games, and books. And starting today, the service will include offerings appropriate to kids ages 9-12. To help you sort through it all, Amazon also aounced the FreeTime Smart Filter that you can tailor to your own child.
The new titles will include games like Monument valley and Sonic the Hedgehog. Older kids will also have access to TV shows such as Star Trek, iCarly, and Superman the Animated Series and books like The Witch of Blackbird Pond and Harry Potter.
All of this is available now for $3 a month if you're already a Prime Member and $5 a month on its own. You'll need a Fire Tablet or Kindle reader to access the content, and the price is per child. Amazon does offer a package discount for four customized profiles for $7 if you're a prime member and $10 if you aren't. The new FreeTime Smart Filter will only work on 4th and 5th generation Fire Tablets and the Fire Kids Edition.
