Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.
Guns and selfies don't mix.
Ethan Miller/Getty ImagesLast Friday night, 15-year-old Ramandeep Singh wanted to take a selfie.
However, as The Indian Express reports, he chose to take one while posing with his dad's pistol.
He accidentally shot himself in the head, was taken to hospital in Ludhiana, India, and died from his injuries.
The Telegraph reports that instead of pressing the button on his phone to take the picture, he pulled the gun's trigger. The safety catch, police say, wasn't on.
The Punjab Police didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
This isn't the first time someone has lost his life trying to take a selfie while posing with a gun.
In March, a Washington state man taking a selfie accidentally shot himself dead, police said. Last year, a Houston teen who was about to go to college suffered a similar fate.
India has accounted for its share of selfie-related deaths reported in recent years. Such deaths there have reportedly included five people in three separate incidents who were struck by speeding trains while taking a selfie on the tracks, as well as someone who died while trying to take a selfie on top of a dam.
In Russia, authorities went so far as to issue a guide to wa selfie-takers of the dangers.
But still it happens.
