Facebook paid the boy $10,000 for uncovering the security flaw. The social media giant routinely pays cash bounties to users who can reveal security flaws in any of its platforms, including Instagram. Since the program's launch in 2011, Facebook has paid out over $4.3 million in bug bounties.
