Between its highly regarded source material, strong cast and R-rating, the animated film adaptation of "Batman: The Killing Joke" has a lot of people excited.
Fans of The Caped Crusader will get to see the flick starting on July 23, when Waer Bros. Animation will release it digitally, EW reports. A Blu-ray release will come later on August 2.
Batman's last jaunt onto the silver screen in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" wasn't received with particular warmth, so the stakes here are higher than usual. The animated movie will feature voice acting from Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and Joker, respectively.
Made by by Alan Moore, Brian Bolland and John Higgins,1988's "The Killing Joke" is one of the most well-known Batman comic books and has arguably become the definitive Joker origin story.
