Microsoft Windows 10 is now on 300 million screens - CNET

Windows 10 has been a critical success, and it looks like a lot of people are upgrading, too. After a six month check-in where 200 million active devices had upgraded, Microsoft announced that now the number's up to 300 million devices worldwide. That number includes PCs, phones, and also the Xbox One.

In a blog post this moing, Microsoft listed some new stats on Windows 10 usage (Edge browsing numbers are up, according to Microsoft. Windows 10 has been available for about nine months.

Windows 10 is currently available as a free upgrade to existing users of Windows 7 or later, but that won't be the case forever. After July 29, a new copy of Windows 10 Home will cost $119, or come free with new machines. If you've got a Windows machine lying around, in other words, upgrade time is now.

Right now, according to ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley, it's still not clear whether Microsoft might renew the free upgrade offer.
