MinecraftA 21-year-old Long Island University student was arrested Thursday for trolling popular gaming sites to find child poography victims, according to ABC News.
Robert Gaeau, who was slated to graduate from college Friday, is accused of posing as a girl named Allison Denario and asking boys to send photos of themselves, ABC said, citing federal officials. He would then allegedly shift and say he was Allison's angry boyfriend and would claim he'd tell his father -- whom he said was an FBI agent or police detective -- unless the boys performed sex acts on camera.
Gaeau used the handle "Raptorr427" or "Bobbysixx" when allegedly looking for underage victims on gaming sites like Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto, ABC said. He's also accused of contacting victims on social media like Instagram and Kik, ABC reported.
Long Island University declined to comment. Rockstar Games, which makes Grand Theft Auto, and Mojang, which makes Minecraft, didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. The Nassau Police Department referred CNET to federal Homeland Security Investigations, which didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
