Non resistere! Alfa Romeo Giulia QV is the Carabinieri's latest cop car - Roadshow

When you need something done in a hurry, it never hurts to invest in horsepower. Italy's Carabinieri, its military and civilian police force that has nothing to do with carabiners, is well aware of this. So much so, in fact, that it just took possession of two brand new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio (QV) sedans.

The QV packs 503 horsepower from its 2.9-liter, twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, and it's capable of reaching 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. That's why, as CarScoops reported, it will serve the Carabinieri as a rapid-response vehicle, capable of zipping its way to a scene well ahead of pokier, larger vehicles.

Of course, it's loaded to the brim with police-specific equipment, like LED light bars, strobe lights, interior markers that serve as waings when the doors are left open, and a proper Carabinieri vinyl wrap. The car won't be available to every member of the force -- rather, piloting the Giulia QV will require a driving course from Alfa Romeo itself.

CarScoops said that FCA would deliver some 800 vehicles to the Carabinieri during this calendar year, including other Alfa Romeo models, Jeep Renegades and Fiat Pandas. If you see one of these lighting up the road behind you, it's probably best to pull over, because you're unlikely to outrun it.
