Tinder's threesome rival 3nder protests lawsuit with bizarre socks campaign - CNET

A legal spat has broken out in the world of dating apps between popular, twosome-focused service Tinder and its less well-known rival, threesome-focused service 3nder.

Tinder, which is owned by online dating giant Match, is currently suing 3nder due to the similarity in their names.

3nder has taken issue with the lawsuit, launching a campaign against its rival called Tinder Sucks My Socks. It is encouraging users to tweet pictures of their socks at Tinder along with the campaign hashtag to protest the lawsuit. It is not entirely clear why socks have been chosen as the campaign mascot, but at least it's keeping things safe for work.

"Our mission and our values could not be more distinct from those of Tinder," said 3nder Founder Dimo Trifonov in a statement. Trifonov argued that 3nder values aesthetics in a way that sets it apart from Tinder and pointed out that the app's members were seeking something very different to Tinder users.

"With so many sexualities and relationship structures left out of Tinder and the Match Group offerings, there is room for all of us," he said. "No one should have a monopoly on love."

Tinder did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
