Get ready to drown your sorrows in a giant mug of butterbeer, Harry Potter fans. Author J.K. Rowling is promising more tears.
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," a new two-part play based on a story by Rowling and focusing on Harry's son Albus, opens at London's Palace Theatre July 30. And just in case fans were hoping for a happy little tale about the next generation of Potters and their contented place in a peaceful magical world, well, just Expelliarmus those ideas right out of your little Muggle head.
On Friday, a Twitter user named James (Harry's late dad, is that you?) tweeted at Rowling, asking if the new play would make him cry. Her response was typical Rowling.
For those of us who can't get our hands on enough Floo powder to get to London to see the play, a book version will be released in both digital and print format on July 31, birthday of both Harry and Rowling.
