Tom Clancy's The Division has been a tremendous success for Ubisoft -- making $330 million in its first five days of availability back in March and breaking company records in the process.
Now, Ubisoft hopes it can make lightning strike twice, developing a film based on the new video game franchise, according to Variety.
The publication reported that sources have said that Jake Gyllenhaal is attached to the project in a leading role. Gyllenhaal is no stranger to video game adaptions -- 2010's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", in which he starred, is the highest grossing film based on a video game.
The Division takes places in a dystopia Manhattan following New York City being ravaged by a man-made disease epidemic. Players step into the boots of a Strategic Homeland Division agent, tasked with maintaining order and investigating the disease's outbreak.
