Oscar winner Brie Larson is the current frontrunner to play Captain Marvel in the upcoming Marvel film, reports Variety. Sources have told the entertainment publication that Larson is the studio's first choice and that she's leaning towards taking the role.
Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, is an air force pilot who, following an accident, has her DNA fused with an alien, granting her super strength, energy projection and flight. It's totally not the same origin story as Green Lante. He gets a ring.
