Hillary Clinton, in a tweet she wrote personally, said: "Woke up to hear the devastating news from FL. As we wait for more information, my thoughts are with those affected by this horrific act."

This was a theme followed by presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump. Until it wasn't.

"Horrific incident in FL," he tweeted. "Praying for all the victims & their families. When will this stop? When will we get tough, smart & vigilant?"

Those prayers were interrupted by another tweet: "Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don't want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!"

Some might think it isn't smart to speak of congratulations when so many bodies lie on the floor and phones still ring with loved ones desperate for word.

For Trump, though, the instant loudhailer of Twitter is there to proclaim that he was supposedly right.
