British national treasure Helen Mirren will feature alongside Vin Diesel in "Fast 8".
Angela Weiss/Getty ImagesHelen Mirren will join the cast of "Fast 8", the eighth instalment in the Fast and the Furious franchise -- on one condition.
The Oscar-wiing British actress confirmed her spot in the 2017 action flick in an interview with Elle, telling the magazine, "I've always rather loved driving. I said, 'I'll be in it, but only if I'm allowed to drive if I do drive in it.'"
The 70-year-old actress recently starred in high-tech drone thriller "Eye in the Sky", and won the Best Actress Academy Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen".
Nabbing a part in "Fast 8" appears to be the fulfilment of a long-held dream for Mirren, who last year told Yahoo, "My great ambition is to be in a Fast and Furious movie. I so want to be a mad driver in a Fast and Furious movie. My claim to fame is I always do my own driving."
