Verizon and Asus are leaning on each other in this new tablet offering.
Verizon WirelessVerizon Wireless customers in need of a small, powerful tablet have a new option as of today: the Asus ZenPad Z8.
Ruing Android Marshmallow, the Z8 is the first Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered Asus tablet available in the US with Verizon Wireless. Designed for gobbling down all types of media, the 7.9-inch IPS display has a 2,048x1,536-pixel resolution (QXGA) with 178-degree viewing angles, paired with dual-front facing stereo speakers with DTS-HD support.
Support for Verizon's 4G LTE network is a given, but it's also ready for the telecom giant's XLTE service that doubles the network's 4G LTE bandwidth. It also has 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Other key specs include:
- Snapdragon 650 hexacore processor
- Qualcomm Adreno 510 GPU
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB inteal storage
- A microSD card slot supporting cards up to 128GB
- USB Type-C coector
- 2-megapixel camera
- Up to 13 hours of battery life
- 11.3-ounce weight
The ZenPad Z8 can be ordered today, and it will be in stores June 23 for $250 or on a device payment plan for less than $11 per month for 24 months.
