"Supergirl" recently found a new home at the CW, and now it's found a new hunk as well. According to Deadline, the network has revealed that Tyler Hoechlin will be playing Superman in the upcoming second season.
The news signals big changes for DC Comics and the direction of the show, which has been carefully tiptoeing (quite literally) around the character of Superman up until now. Between "Supergirl," "Arrow" and "The Flash," the universe of the Greg Berlanti-produced hero shows has been in question for sometime. Now we finally know (we think): These shows exist as a separate universe from the filmic DC world of "Batman v Superman."
Hoechlin, the 28-year-old new Man of Steel was recently seen in Richard Linklater's "Everybody Wants Some!!", but is best known for his work on series "Teen Wolf" and "7th Heaven". He will also be seen in the upcoming thriller "Stratton: First into Action," produced by non other than Henry Cavill, our most recent big screen Superman.
The CW is a joint venture between Waer Bros and CBS, the owners of CNET.
