Never leaving well enough alone: Lamborghini unveils Aventador Miura Homage - Roadshow

The Lamborghini Miura is one of the most respected supercars of all time. The grandfather of Lamborghini's V-12 cars, it's a car that will be remembered for years. To celebrate its 50th aiversary, Lamborghini built a tribute to its creation, based on the current Aventador.

To be honest, while the resulting Aventador Miura Homeage is pretty damn gorgeous, it's all a bit underwhelming. The majority of its zazz is superficial, with a Miura badge on the side, a black Lamborghini logo out back and a nameplate inside the vehicle. Six colors are available, based on the Miura's original paint offerings, and its staggered wheel setup can be had in either matte silver or gold.

Inside, buyers can choose between black and brown motifs. There's a Miura aiversary logo stitched into the seatbacks in either gold or silver, and "Lamborghini" is embroidered on the leather dashboard.

That's it, really. The powertrain is unchanged -- the Aventador Miura Homage gets its hustle from a 700-horsepower, naturally aspirated 12-cylinder engine. 60 mph arrives in 2.9 seconds, with power reaching all four wheels. Only 50 units will be produced for certain markets, and Lamborghini is quick to note that nearly all of them are already spoken for. It'll be on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 23 to June 26.
