Twitter is adding ex-Facebook chief technology officer Bret Taylor to its ever-changing board of directors.
The consumer-savvy Taylor, who is also the founder and CEO of Quip, a business software startup, joins the board immediately, the San Francisco-based social network announced Tuesday.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, naturally tweeted out the announcement:

Taylor becomes Twitter's fourth new board member since April. The company has also added Pepsi Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston , Martha Lane Fox, a co-founder of the travel website Lastminute.com, and Black Entertainment Television CEO Debra Lee to diversify a previously white male-dominated board.
Taylor became Facebook's CTO after the company acquired FriendFeed, the social network he co-founded in 2007. Before that, Taylor was a group product manager at Google, where he co-created Google Maps and started Google's Developer product group.
Omid Kordestani, Twitter's executive chairman, also tweeted Tuesday about collaborating with his former Google colleague:
Kordestani also said in a statement that Taylor has "a great mind for consumer products and technologies that will be invaluable. His skills also complement those of our other recent Board additions, who bring expertise in finance, media, and entrepreneurship."
