The Inteational Electrotechnical Commission hopes the multi-purpose USB Type-C cable will reduce waste and add convenience for customers. That's why the IEC officially aounced today that it has formally adopted the USB Type-C as its new inteational standard.
Specifically, the IEC adopted the Type-C coector, along with its two way power delivery system and the high speed data delivery of USB 3.1. The IEC made the aouncement in conjunction with the USB Implementers Forum.
