Star Wars lightsaber VR experience coming free to Steam, Darth Vader title to come - CNET

Got an HTC Vive headset? You can become a Jedi in the Star Wars universe for free this Monday.

Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine, a lightsaber virtual-reality experiment we checked out in March, is coming to the Steam VR platform as a free download, said ILMxLab, Lucasfilm's immersive-entertainment division.

During a panel discussion Saturday at Star Wars Celebration Europe, ILMxLab also said it's working on a future Star Wars VR experience that will focus on everyone's favorite Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader. Details are sparse, but screenwriter David Goyer (who's previously worked on "Batman Begins" and "Man of Steel") is joining the project.
