Count Amazon CEO and space enthusiast Jeff Bezos among those who will be advising the US govement on iovation.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who owns Blue Origin, a private space company, has joined a board that advises the Pentagon on iovation issues.
Blue OriginBezos has been named to Defense Secretary Ash Carter's recently created Defense Iovation Advisory Board. Bezos is also the head of Blue Origin, a private space launch company that successfully launched a reusable rocket at least four times since November.
Bezos, along with pop scientist/TV star Neil deGrasse Tyson, are two of 10 new members joining the board Carter formed in March to advise the Pentagon on iovation-related issues.
The board is headed by Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Alphabet, Google's parent company. Other tech-related board members include LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, Instagram chief operating officer Mae Levine and Code for America founder Jeifer Pahlka.
The board will be working over the summer to provide initial recommendations to Carter by October.
