So when game designer Jacob Janerka decided to celebrate the series with retro video game art, it felt like the perfect choice for an homage.
Janerka is currently working on an '80s inspired point-and-click sci-fi adventure game called Paradigm.
Before you read further, keep in mind spoilers are mentioned below. So if you haven't watched "Stranger Things" yet, head over to Netflix and do it now.
Even "The Upside Down" looks like a fun place to visit when made into a retro-looking video game.

In the animated GIFs of the game, Janerka shows characters Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) in Byers' living room strewn with Christmas lights. It may seem innocent enough, but another image shows the same room but in "The Upside Down."
Of course, no adventure game is complete without a monster, and the game shows the demogorgon in all his glory. While Janerka isn't planning on making this into a real game, chances are it would be a hit among fans of the series longing to continue the eerie story line.
