Meg Whitman is crossing party lines to endorse Hilary Clinton for President.
In an interview with the New York Times on Tuesday, the President and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and former Republican candidate for Califoia goveor called Republican nominee Donald Trump a "dishonest demagogue" and encouraged other Republicans to follow her lead.
"I will vote for Hillary, I will talk to my Republican friends about helping her, and I will donate to her campaign and try to raise money for her," Whitman told the Times.
Whitman also stated that all Americans, regardless of party affiliation, should "put country first before party" and that she would contribute a "substantial" amount of money to bolster the Clinton campaign.
"To vote Republican out of party loyalty alone would be to endorse a candidacy that I believe has exploited anger, grievance, xenophobia and racial division," Whitman said in followup statement posted on Facebook, which has since gaered more than 30,000 likes.
