In Tokushima, Japan a truck driver was allegedly playing Pokemon Go at the wheel on Tuesday evening.
Reuters reports that his truck plowed into two women who were crossing the road, killing one and injuring the other.
The driver reportedly admitted to the police that he'd been playing the game.
He is a 39-year-old farmer, according to CNN. It said that the women, in her 70s, died after suffering a spinal injury.
It's unclear what injuries were suffered by the other woman, but they're said to be severe.
Pokemon Go became so popular so quickly that some authorities worried that players weren't paying sufficient attention to their surroundings.
In Oregon, a man was allegedly stabbed while playing. In the UK, rescue services were called out to help players who were stranded on an island. In Missouri, players have even been the targets of armed robberies.
Niantic Labs, makers of the game, didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Ultimately, cellphones have been at the center of many accidents around the world. In the US, the National Safety Council said that cellphone use was involved in 26 percent of all traffic accidents. That was in 2014.
It's all to easy to get temporarily distracted. The consequences, however, can be permanent.
