Sshh! Logitech's new silent mice keep noise pollution out of the office - CNET

The rise of clicky mechanical keyboards is a very unsubtle reminder the accessories we choose have a real impact on the people around us.

If you're looking to go full incognito on your coworkers, Logitech just announced two new mice at IFA that are basically the opposite of a mechanical keyboard.

Logitech M220 Silent Mouse

The company engineered the M220 Silent and the M330 Silent Plus to register the same clicking tactility but with over 90 percent noise reduction. Granted, the feature benefits your neighbors more than yourself, but who doesn't want to bring a little peace and quiet to the workplace anyway?

In fact, the new Logitech mice are so quiet they've eaed the Quiet Mark seal of approval from the UK Noise Abatement Society, a group dedicated to improving the aural landscape for us all.

Moving past the noise, both the M220 Silent and the M330 Silent Plus connect wirelessly to any Windows, Mac, Chrome OS or Linux-based PC using a small USB receiver. The M220 Silent is ambidextrous, while the M330 is contoured for righties with a soft thumbrest and grippy rubber wrapped around the sides.

The M220 Silent ($24.99, £20, AU$35) and M330 Silent Plus ($29.99, £25, AU$40) are available now.

Logitech M720 Triathlon Mouse

Logitech also announced its new M720 Triathlon mouse at IFA this week. Its name fits its versatility: the M720 can pair three devices simultaneously and it's OS-agnostic so you can switch back and forth between your laptop, PC or tablet with ease.

Most mice out there make you choose the connection type (USB or Bluetooth) that works best for your daily needs, but the M720 has both. Even better, it comes with Logitech's in-house Unifying Receiver which lets you pair six Logitech accessories to it at once. In other words, you can use one dongle for a keyboard, a mouse, or any other device in the Unifying family.
