Respawn Entertainment has announced a new video series for Titanfall 2 called "Inside Development." As producer Drew McCoy explains in the introduction video below, this will be a series where developers speak directly to fans about the design decisions they made and the reasoning for them.One of the topics to be discussed in a future video is how Titanfall 2 will handle its servers, as this is changing "a little bit" from 2014's original Titanfall, McCoy said. He also mentioned that fans can expect to hear about some multiplayer and matchmaking changes."We're changing a lot of our matchmaking systems so you can find better games quicker," he said. "We've added this awesome new thing called Networks that lets you make groups of friends and play together a lot easier." Other videos will dive deep into gameplay-focused items such as changes to Titanfall 2's progression system. Overall, players can expect Respawn to discuss the "nitty gritty" of game development with these videos, as opposed to "marketing speak.""This isn't anything other than actual game developers telling you how we're doing our job," McCoy said. "We leaed a lot during Titanfall 1; there's a lot of experience gained there, a lot of lessons leaed, and we've been rolling a lot of that into Titanfall 2."You can submit questions to Respawn for future videos through the developer's social channels, including Twitter and Facebook.Titanfall 2 will launch on October 28 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The design changes to the iPhone 7 over the iPhone 6 shown here may be slight. Sarah Tew/CNET Buy an iPhone 7 later this year, and you may spot at least a few minor design changes.Expected to launch in September, this year's iPhone will feature a longer ear speaker, according to a blog post Thursday by Japanese site Makotakara. Further, the ambient light sensor, which automatically adjusts the screen's brightness based on the surrounding light, will swap positions from the left to the right side of the phone.The proximity sensor, which detects the distance between the phone and your ear, will adopt a "dual specification," according to Makotakara. This could mean the phone will have two such sensors to provide faster and more accurate readings. The rear camera face on the iPhone 7 will become larger. And the iPhone 7 Plus will sport a dual rear camera, according to the site, a rumor that has surfaced several times in the past.Apple needs to entice consumers to buy the iPhone 7, especially in light of falling smartphone sales. But reports say this year's iPhone will offer only minor physical changes, and that next year's model will be the one to wow buyers with major new features and enhancements.The tweaks claimed by Makotakara for the iPhone 7 come from makers of screen protectors and cases, who have reportedly stopped receiving orders in light of the changes. The modifications to the sensors and earpiece mean that screen protectors and cases designed for the iPhone 6 and 6S lineup would not fit, hence requiring a redesign of those accessories."While there may not be large design changes, it will probably be difficult to keep using the same cases and films," Makotakara said.The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus may offer only one major hardware change, the Wall Street Joual said Tuesday -- no more standard audio jack. However, the Macbook Pro is set to get a more dramatic makeover, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and 9 to 5 Mac.It's said that the new 13 and 15-inch Pros, launching in quarter 4 of this year, will replace the function keys atop laptop keyboards with an OLED touch screen. The new models will reportedly use Touch ID, be thinner and lighter than current units and support Thunderbolt 3 USB-C. The Apple analyst said that the company will also release a 13-inch variant of their 12-inch Macbook with extra ports added. Kuo previously correctly predicted, among other things, that the iPhone 6S would come in rose gold and that Apple would release a 4-inch iPhone in 2016, which it ultimately did with the SE. It's likely debatable the location is even a "store" at all. Yet this 3,500-square-foot space, which hosted a grand opening Friday at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, serves as another example of Amazon's evolution, as the world's biggest e-commerce company starts building physical locations to draw itself even closer to its millions of customers. "We see lots of opportunities with this model," Ripley MacDonald, director of Amazon's student programs, said in the store's media center, which includes couches, conference tables and TVs set up with game controllers so students can play "Tetris" on Amazon Prime Video. In Civilization VI, cites are more nuanced than ever and, if developer Firaxis has its way, the key to making playthroughs different, each and every time.Created by the lead designers of Civilization V's major expansions (Gods and Kings and Brave New World), Civ VI marks a drastic departure from how we think about city placement, growth, expansion, and invasion. It does so by "unstacking" cities. That is, instead of piling your palace, buildings, wonders, and garrison troops all on one hexagonal tile, Civ VI spreads your settlement into several districts on multiple tiles.This means each metropolis will be more specialized than those of earlier franchise entries. By dividing cities into different districts, you'll make use of different terrains, more varied resources, and more overall land. As director Ed Beech tells it, this creates a more refined take on the classic Civ formula. "We want to stop players from falling into pattes," he says. "We want players to build their empires differently every time."Unstacking cities will allow for more strategic warfare as well. "You can do bombing raids on key industrial districts," Beech says. Seeing as how farmland, factories and markets are now separated, the "when and where" of any invasion is key. If London is pumping out armored tanks and fighter jets, you can attack its factory tiles. If Cairo is generating ample currency, its markets are the obvious targets.This school of thinking works from the other side as well. When defending these key points, you'll need to prioritize certain districts over others, especially when outnumbered or outgunned. A new update for Dark Souls III is coming to all platforms later today, adjusting the performance of the Greatsword and making a number of fixes and other tuning tweaks, Bandai Namco has announced.This patch adjusts the performance of the Greatsword, the Dancer's Enchanted Sword, and the Winged Knight Twinaxes, but no specific details were divulged. In terms of bug fixes, the update clears out a problem where the game blocked players from using multiple items at Road of Sacrifices, Farron Keep, and Cathedral of the Deep after they beat the game. From Software Other bugs are fixed as well, though they were not specified.In addition to the changes listed below, Bandai Namco said it is aware of the problem on Xbox One related to Regulations. A fix is in the works, though no other details were shared.It's also not stated if this Dark Souls III patch will offer any relief for the PC players experiencing crashing issues. LinkedIn's new app is focused on getting college kids employed. LinkedIn Graduation is coming. You're worried you wasted a lot of money on a fancy piece of paper because you'll never find a job. LinkedIn wants to calm your nerves.The professional social network on Monday will release an app dedicated to helping college kids find their first job out of school. The app, called Linkedin Students, has students enter their school, major and expected graduation date. It then connects you with alumni and resources to help your job search. The app takes you through a 5-step process, where you swipe from screen to screen. (Yes, kind of like the dating app Tinder.) It does things like show you the median salary in your field, tells you what kind of work people who had your major at your school are doing now, and gives you a few actual jobs to apply to. The first time you use the app, it will show you only one job posting. That's by design. "Students find the job search daunting," said Ada Hu, the app's product manager. "We never saw them wanting to be in an app that long." The goal is for students to use it in little chunks, like while you are going from class to class. Apparently, college kids need all the help they can get. For young college graduates in 2015, the unemployment rate is 7.2 percent, compared with 5.5 percent in 2007, according to the Economic Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank.With the launch of the new app, LinkedIn will shut down some other resources it had for students, including its university rankings and school finder. The games will be screened for free to a global audience on any device with Inteet access. It's not exclusive, though. The games will also be available on NBC, CBS and the NFL Network, meaning viewers will have the option of watching games via traditional, cable or digital broadcast. Still, the deal, announced Tuesday, marks a big first down for Twitter, the debut foray of the social media service into live sports streaming. Twitter has long hosted conversations around sporting events and has more recently introduced replays and curated "moments" following those contests. Consider it a kind of online sports bar. "Twitter is where live events unfold and is the right partner for the NFL as we take the latest step in serving fans around the world live NFL football," said league commissioner Roger Goodell, who was amped up enough about the deal that he tweeted for the first time since September 2014. In August, the NFL and the social network signed a two-year deal to show in-game highlights, custom game recaps, breaking news, analysis and archival videos to fans. The relationship between the NFL and Twitter actually goes back to 2013. And it just so happens that Twitter CFO Anthony Noto was previously the chief financial officer for the NFL. The NCAA and its broadcast partners are using Samsung Gear VR, a headset that seats Samsung phones, to present the 180-degree courtside stream. Hoops fans will need to download the NCAA March Madness Live app in the Oculus Store to get the software needed to watch the stream. Oculus, which just launched the Rift headset, is owned by Facebook. The live-stream is the latest indication of the impact virtual reality may have in our everyday world. In October, NextVR, a VR content developer, partnered with the NBA and Tuer Sports to live stream the Golden State Warriors taking on the New Orleans Pelicans, the first professional sports game shown live in VR. Boxing and Nascar racing have all since received the VR treatment, and pro teams like baseball's San Francisco Giants are poised to create VR videos for their fans. Earlier this month, Fox Sports and NextVR aired seven games of the Big East basketball touament in virtual reality. "We're very close to seeing a number of high-profile sporting events shown in VR," NextVR Executive Chairman Brad Allen said during the Big East touey earlier this month.
