Description Moings are a madcap time for many of us. We wake up in a haze—often after hitting snooze a few times. Then we rush around to get ready and out the door so we can officially start the day. By the time the workday wraps up, we’re so exhausted and defeated that any motivation to accomplish something in the evening has vanished. But according to time management expert Laura Vanderkam, moings hold the key to taking control of our schedules. If we use...

NASA/JPL-Caltech/SwRI/MSSS Jupiter's south pole was well documented by Cassini on its way to Satu, but the north pole (home of Jovian Santa, one could only assume) has remained much more mysterious. This is set to change with the arrival of Jupiter probe Juno, which completed its first flyby of the north pole on August 27 and has already started delivering. On that flyby, Juno got busy taking photos with its JunoCam instrument from a distance of just 4,200 kilometres (2,500 miles) above Jupiter's clouds as it travelle...

[embedded content] Hurricanes are scary enough at ground level. View them from space and they look almost unreal, like special effects created in a movie studio. NASA released a time-lapse video on Tuesday showing the Inteational Space Station orbiting over three separate hurricanes. They look both massive and frightening from the station's orbital vantage point. In order, the video shows twin hurricanes Lester and Madeline in the Pacific Ocean and then Gaston in the Atlantic Ocean. Both Lester and Madeline pose a potential threat to the Hawaiian Islands. Gaston is kicking across the Atlantic with wind speeds reaching 100 mph (about 160 kph). Les...

This isn't about the first time I played World of Warcraft. Nor is it about the last time, or any of the half a dozen times I quit forever. It's about this feeling I get when I come back to the game, as I have done, and have resigned myself to do over and over again.I've been playing World of Warcraft -- Blizzard's all-powerful, all-conquering massively multiplayer online roleplaying game -- off and on for more than a decade. I could tell you exactly how much time I'd spent playing, but for my sanity I'd rather not know. But I remember so much about playing this game.I remember being stuck with terribly mismatched armour on my hunter because anything better refused to drop. I remember discov...

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.Enlarge ImageIs he a little bored with his iPhone? Tech.Science.Society/YouTube screenshot by Chris Matyszczyk/CNET I rather thought that tech CEOs all go around being nice to each other in public and only offering criticisms of other CEOs' companies through Masonic-like winks, nods and code words.I was moved, therefore, on Saturday night when I saw splendidly forthright Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff retweet this: "Crazy seeing Apple trying to catch Samsung. Battery life, waterproofing, blue color, front led light, &...

Whatever happened to the son of Odin? [embedded content] We've all had fantasies of a future where robot chefs live in our homes and make us any meal we desire at any time of the day. But sadly, robots aren't quite sophisticated enough for home use as of yet. But that didn't stop Simone Giertz, a YouTube vlogger known for making hilariously crappy robots, from making her own simplistic robot to make her a sandwich. On Friday, Giertz posted the video "The Sandwich Robot" to show off all that a robot arm can and caot do for its hungry master. Not surprisingly, the robot -- armed with a plastic knife -- couldn't figure out how to get peanut butter from the jar to the bread. "I had a robo...
