Mitsubishi Mitsubishi sure does love itself a sport utility vehicle. The company's cut down its US offerings to where its bread-and-butter products are crossovers, and most of its auto-show concepts have also been utility vehicles over the last few years. When it came time to roll out yet another concept, this time for the Indonesia Inteational Auto Show, what do you think Mitsubishi came up with?In a move that will likely shock most citizens of Earth into a state of total death, Mitsubishi's trotting out a new SUV concept. It follows in the visual footsteps of the current Outlander and other concepts, with Mitsubishi's "Dynamic Shield" design language lending it a rather powerful looking front end.But of course, it can't just be a utility vehicle. Heavens, no! That would be too simple for a concept car. Instead, it's adopted a whole load of sporty characteristics, like deep fender flares and, for some reason, "generous ground clearance." I'm not calling ground clearance, Mitsubishi is. Yeah, I don't get it, either. Inside, despite its compact frame, it's packing three rows of seats. That's all I can really say, because Mitsubishi didn't bother to supply more than the one picture. Unlike other concepts, this one's likely heading to production, albeit with the design language tued down a notch or two. It's set to be built in Indonesia, which makes sense given its debut location. Not only did he attend the unveiling of Aston Martin's AM-RB 001 hypercar collaboration with Red Bull, but he also ended up spending some time with the Bugatti Chiron, the successor to the Veyron. I'm assuming he sold his soul to the devil, but I haven't heard him play the blues, so I can't be sure about that.Roadshow's week was a bit more grounded. Our San Francisco crew spent the week filming our small-crossover Rivals feature, going off-road with three cars that will probably never go off-road again. Jon Wong and Chris Paukert scampered off to Gingerman Raceway to film a Shootout with an Alfa Romeo 4C and a BMW M2. That's why even smaller recalls involving the suspension should be taken seriously. This week, General Motors has issued a suspension-related recall for several of its SUV and truck offerings.The recall covers the 2016-2017 Chevrolet Silverado and the following 2016 vehicles: Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV; Chevrolet Suburban; Chevrolet Tahoe; GMC Sierra; GMC Yukon and Yukon XL. A poorly welded upper control arm might separate from its bushing, which can greatly affect a driver's ability to steer.At the moment, replacement parts are not available. When they are available, GM will replace both upper control arms (left and right) and ensure proper suspension alignment.
