Following several reports that the release of upcoming role-playing game Final Fantasy XV has been delayed, Square Enix has confirmed a new launch date for the game. Final Fantasy XV will be released globally on November 29--nearly two months later than its previously scheduled September 30 launch date.According to a statement released by Square Enix, the new date "will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams."Game director Hajime Tabata said: "From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Will Release Radar be as successful as the popular Discover Weekly playlist? Spotify Spotify's hit a certain groove with its algorithm-driven playlists like Discover Weekly. The music streaming service regularly unearths songs and artists listeners might have missed.Now, Spotify is applying that same idea to new releases with a feature called Release Radar, the company said in a blog post Friday. Release Radar, available today, is a personalized playlist that updates every Friday with 1-2 hours of tracks from new releases, culled from the past few weeks. Spotify says the more you listen, the better the playlist gets. "With the huge amount of new music released every week, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest tracks," Spotify's Senior Product Owner Matt Ogle said in the post. Apple's latest iOS update resolves another security flaw. Screenshot by Lance Whitney/CNET Apple's latest update to its iOS software fixes a security hole that could have been exploited to take control of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Released on Thursday, iOS 9.3.4 addresses the problem as one in which an "application may be able to execute arbitrary code with keel privileges," according to an Apple support page. That means an attacker could execute virtually any command, including one that would gain control of your iOS device.iOS 9.3.4 fixes that vulnerability, the latest in a long line of flaws discovered since iOS 9 was released almost a year ago. Yes, iOS 9 is approaching its first anniversary, and bugs are still being uncovered. That points to the difficulty in finding flaws that can affect any piece of software. Apple can do all the inteal testing it wants. But many vulnerabilities remain undiscovered until users either stumble upon them or make a concerted effort to find them. In this case, the flaw in iOS 9.3.3 was found and exploited by a Chinese jailbreaking team called Pangu. In late July, the Pangu team released a tool that allowed users to jailbreak their iOS devices. On its support page, Apple actually credited the folks at Pangu for discovering the flaw, serving as a not-so-subtle nod that iOS 9.3.4 also renders their new jailbreak ineffective. Apple frowns upon jailbreaking, a process that allows you to bypass Apple's restrictions, thus letting you tap into certain features and install software not approved by the company. Apple was users that jailbreaking can leave their devices more susceptible to security vulnerabilities, a shorter battery life and the inability to install future updates, among other problems. WikiLeaks said Monday it is suffering from a 'sustained attack' after announcing it would release a trove of documents detailing Turkey's political power structure."Our infrastructure is under sustained attack," said a tweet sent by WikiLeaks, perhaps best known for the release of classified govement and military documents. The document-leaking organization said earlier Monday it was preparing to release 300,000 emails and 500,000 documents related to the failed Turkish coup Friday. Wikileaks went on to suggest that the Turkish govement might be behind the attack on the organization."We are unsure of the true origin of the attack. The timing suggests a Turkish state power faction or its allies," Wikileaks said in a subsequent tweet. "We will prevail & publish."The document release and attack on Wikileaks come just three days after military factions in Turkey tried to take control of the country Friday night. France is a no Go Pokemon zone right now.Pokemon Go is taking over Europe, but there's one country it's yet to arrive in: France.The makers of the game confirmed to IGN France on Monday that they were delaying the launch of Pokemon Go in the country following the Nice terror attack this weekend."As a sign of respect for the French people in this time of national mouing, the release of Pokémon GO is postponed," said the Pokemon Company in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with France and the victims affected by this terrible attack."The release had originally been scheduled for Friday, when the game launched in the UK and other European countries. Katy Perry Katy Perry is the latest artist to forgo Spotify in favor of Apple Music. The singer debuted her new song "Rise" on Apple's streaming service late Thursday night. While the song can also be found on the singer's Vevo YouTube page, it isn't available on either Spotify or Tidal. The song is exclusive to Apple Music subscribers for the time being and can only be purchased through the iTunes store. "This is a song that's been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface," Perry said about the song during an appearance on the Today Show. "I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite. I know that together we can rise above the fear... in our country, and around the world." Apple has been making a push for exclusive content in effort to attract new subscribers to the service. In December, the company partnered with Taylor Swift to release a behind-the-scenes concert video shot during the pop's star's world tour. Between them, the two companies dominate the smartphone world with Android and iOS software featuring on the majority of mobile devices sold worldwide.Google is responsible for a number of hit phones that have been sold under the Nexus brand -- the most recent being the Nexus 5X and 6P -- but these have always been built in collaboration with major Android phone manufacturers such as Huawei, LG and HTC. The label on the reel actually lists seven songs recorded on February 15, 1993 at Pachyderm Studios, including two demo versions of "Dumb" and three of "Marigold," but the most compelling tracks are two instrumentals that would serve as proto-releases leading up to "In Utero," an album that the band would go on to record with Steve Albini later that month in the same studio. "Lullaby" is the more dissonant of the two songs with unrehearsed drums, bass, and a cosmic keyboard effect that spill together into three and a half minutes of messy noodling. It's still worth listening to, if only just to join in on the YouTube comment thread speculating about whether or not it's actually Kurt Cobain playing drums.The other track is untitled but drummer Dave Grohl plays all the instruments, which blast out of the gate with a brutal guitar riff played over a high-pitched feedback loop. Hearing Grohl's guitar work here makes it easy to imagine him picking one up again to form Foo Fighters the following year. One tantalising tidbit was the prospect of an ammonia-rich ocean of water under the surface, a liquid sea beneath the frozen plains."Thanks to the incredible data retued by New Horizons, we were able to observe tectonic features on Pluto's surface, update our thermal evolution model with new data and infer that Pluto most likely has a subsurface ocean today," said lead author Noah Hammond, a graduate student in Brown University's Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences. The paper has been published in the joual Geophysical Research Letters.The team updated a thermal model of Pluto based on detailed data from the New Horizons probe, with tectonic features such as fault lines hundreds of kilometres long and up to 4 km (2.5 miles) deep, and mountains of water ice that indicated Pluto is slowly expanding over time. If Pluto had had oceans that completely froze long ago, then the dwarf planet would have been shrinking over time."What New Horizons showed was that there are extensional tectonic features, which indicate that Pluto underwent a period of global expansion," Hammond said. "A subsurface ocean that was slowly freezing over would cause this kind of expansion."How could the water remain liquid so far from the sun? The slow natural decay of radioactive elements in Pluto's core may have been sufficient to keep the water unfrozen beneath the icy surface. Over time, however, that water could have started to refreeze. Rise Digital If you could somehow take a sample of the genetic material of every US president going back to George Washington and use it to create a hybrid of all 44 men, what would he look like? Seattle marketing outfit Rise Digital decided to do a little experiment to answer this buing question by feeding every presidential portrait into facial-morphing software from Abrosoft that creates a digital "average" or composite of all those faces. The resulting portrait is the face on the left above. Rise Digital claims to see a resemblance to Kevin Spacey's character Francis Underwood from the Netflix show "House of Cards," (as seen on the right), but here at CNET we see a whole lot more of sportscasters Frank Gifford or Al Michaels in that face, or maybe even the younger brother of this composite of every Doctor Who ever. Asus made many exciting announcements on Monday at Computex, including the reveals of the ZenBook 3 and the ZenFone 3 range. Perhaps most surprising, though, was Zenbo, Asus' adorable home robot.Zenbo will launch in the next 9 to 12 months, said Asus CEO Jerry Shen in an interview with CNET. It's a long time for sure, but announcing the product early is deliberate on Asus' end. It hopes to attract developers to work on apps for Zenbo, to have a robust ecoystem before the robot becomes available."If we didn't announce Zenbo, we wouldn't be able to get enough people interested. It's a chicken and egg situation," he said."The announcement timing's really tough, but when I spoke to Jonney [Shih, Asus' chairman], he thinks that if we have the momentum from the show, we will have more people join the program."Similarly, IDC Research analyst Bryan Ma told CNET that Zenbo would only do well if it can get the software to make the robot viable."The first thought that came to mind when Zenbo rolled on stage is what kind of applications would be available. Now that we're well into the digital age, it's about time that DIY work extended into the same realm, and Hyundai's offering it as we speak.If you own one of several eligible vehicles (requirements are embedded below), you can head over to MyHyundai.com and download the software update to a USB memory stick or the navigation system's SD card. From there, it's as easy as plugging it in and following directions. If you need a little extra help, there are videos available on YouTube to provide more direction.This builds on an earlier DIY update, which granted certain cars Android Auto smartphone connectivity capabilities. More models are likely to be added to the list of cars, including Sonata Hybrid, Veloster and Azera. Update time can take different amounts of time, depending on what car you have and what equipment it contains. Download time is anywhere between 15 minutes and 3 hours, but uploading it to the vehicle takes well under an hour. Some vehicles mandate the use of the nav system's SD card, as well.
