Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has spoken up again to talk about why it was decided that the long-awaited and much-anticipated game be delayed from September to November.Speaking with Famitsu, as translated by and reported on by Kotaku, Tabata started off by stating that "the optimization isn't [yet] sufficient." There are "various bugs" throughout the game, while frame rate is not holding to its 30 FPS target as well as Square Enix would like.Some of Final Fantasy XV's bugs won't keep players from advancing (a lot of games have bugs like this), but there are others that Tabata hopes can be fixed before release. As Respawn recently teased, Titanfall 2's upcoming open beta--or technical test, as EA is choosing to call it--will take place over the next two weekends on Xbox One and PS4.The first of the two weekend betas starts this Friday, August 19, with two modes and two maps available. The following weekend will still offer that same content, but with an additional map and mode added to the mix.Two new Titans, Ion and Scorch, will be available for use, along with Pilot abilities like Grapple, Holo Point, and Pulse Blade. A press release also mentions two of the weapons you'll be able to use: the Mastiff (a "horizontal spread shotgun") and the Alteator (a "dual-barrel SMG"). Following several reports that the release of upcoming role-playing game Final Fantasy XV has been delayed, Square Enix has confirmed a new launch date for the game. Final Fantasy XV will be released globally on November 29--nearly two months later than its previously scheduled September 30 launch date.According to a statement released by Square Enix, the new date "will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams."Game director Hajime Tabata said: "From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this. Close Facebook's newest ad-blocking tactic defeats Adblock Plus' workaround Drag That was quick. Just two days after Facebook found a way to sneak ads past ad-blocking software, the ad blockers have struck back. Adblock Plus, one of the best-known tools for blocking ads on the inteet, claims to have a work-around that can defeat Facebook's advertising. No Man's Sky developer Hello Games has revealed what the game's first patch will include. Posting on the game's official website, studio founder Sean Murray said anyone who played the game prior to installing this patch will need to delete their save. Although the game will continue to function without the patch, these players will "miss out on new content and experiences" if they don't update."We highly recommend deleting your save if you have played before updating your game (we won't do this in future, but it's a day zero update)," the post says.According to Murray, servers will be wiped on Sunday (August 7) and then again on Monday (August 8). The update will be available on Monday (August 9) for reviewers once it exits submission. The general public playing on PC and PS4 will be able to download and patch their game at launch. It looks like Hello Games has introduced a number of new features to the game, including three paths players can follow, changes to the way terrain generation works, and tweaked combat mechanics. Additionally, the size of the game's galaxies are now ten times larger. The exploit that allowed early players to complete the game in around 30 hours has also been removed.Looking ahead, Murray said Hello Games is working on introducing "the ability to build bases and own giant space freighters."He added: "Temporal AA and my new cloud rendering tech should be coming soon too. It will really change the game again, and enhance it visually. This universe we've built is a pretty large canvas, we've got a lot of ideas. Will Release Radar be as successful as the popular Discover Weekly playlist? Spotify Spotify's hit a certain groove with its algorithm-driven playlists like Discover Weekly. The music streaming service regularly unearths songs and artists listeners might have missed.Now, Spotify is applying that same idea to new releases with a feature called Release Radar, the company said in a blog post Friday. Release Radar, available today, is a personalized playlist that updates every Friday with 1-2 hours of tracks from new releases, culled from the past few weeks. Spotify says the more you listen, the better the playlist gets. "With the huge amount of new music released every week, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest tracks," Spotify's Senior Product Owner Matt Ogle said in the post. Apple's latest iOS update resolves another security flaw. Screenshot by Lance Whitney/CNET Apple's latest update to its iOS software fixes a security hole that could have been exploited to take control of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Released on Thursday, iOS 9.3.4 addresses the problem as one in which an "application may be able to execute arbitrary code with keel privileges," according to an Apple support page. That means an attacker could execute virtually any command, including one that would gain control of your iOS device.iOS 9.3.4 fixes that vulnerability, the latest in a long line of flaws discovered since iOS 9 was released almost a year ago. Yes, iOS 9 is approaching its first anniversary, and bugs are still being uncovered. That points to the difficulty in finding flaws that can affect any piece of software. Apple can do all the inteal testing it wants. But many vulnerabilities remain undiscovered until users either stumble upon them or make a concerted effort to find them. In this case, the flaw in iOS 9.3.3 was found and exploited by a Chinese jailbreaking team called Pangu. In late July, the Pangu team released a tool that allowed users to jailbreak their iOS devices. On its support page, Apple actually credited the folks at Pangu for discovering the flaw, serving as a not-so-subtle nod that iOS 9.3.4 also renders their new jailbreak ineffective. Apple frowns upon jailbreaking, a process that allows you to bypass Apple's restrictions, thus letting you tap into certain features and install software not approved by the company. Apple was users that jailbreaking can leave their devices more susceptible to security vulnerabilities, a shorter battery life and the inability to install future updates, among other problems. Enlarge Image Softbank Pepper, Japan's friendly neighbourhood robotic humanoid companion, is finally coming to the United States -- but just for a week.The robot will be greeting customers at B8ta, a tech store in San Francisco, Califoia, from August 11 to 18, according to the store's Facebook page. Pepper made its debut in Japan, where it's been sold in 1,000-unit batches. Each time Japanese telco Softbank sends Pepper to the market, it sells out in seconds. Pepper has since also made appearances in Europe. The robot is programmed to communicate with users, follow vocal commands, read human emotions and react accordingly. Though it's available for purchase to regular Joes in Japan, it's main use inteationally has been to greet and serve customers at supermarkets, stores, hotels and the like. RoadshowNewsCar IndustryTesla posts $150 million Q2 loss, may miss 2016 delivery targetsTesla has posted Q2 2016 eaings and, while the word isn't resoundingly terrible, there's more bad news to be found than good. We'll start with the good, Tesla posting $1.56 billion in non-GAAP revenue for Q2. That's up from $1.2 billion in the same period last year. Total vehicle deliveries of 14,402 (9,764 Model S, 4,638 Model X) is also a big bump from this period last year, when Tesla shipped 11,507 vehicles. Tesla also says that average price of the Model S is up three percent. That's the good, here's the bad: Tesla posted a $150 million non-GAAP loss, which amounts to $1.06 per share. That's about double what analysts had figured. The company is also looking like it may come up short on its goal of delivering 80,000 cars this year, as it shipped 14,820 in Q1. So, we're still well-short of half. However, Tesla indicated that "almost half" of its Q2 production occurred in the last four weeks of the quarter, meaning we're on a pretty serious ramp -- assuming that rate continues.Despite all that, Tesla's stock price seems to be weathering the bad news, in after-hours trading up a few points from its $225.79 close. It's been on a strong rally over the past month since the initial announcement of a merger with SolarCity, a deal that was initially met with a fair bit of skepticism. The official opening of the Gigafactory last week is also surely helping to buoy investor spirits.
